Course Introduction
The tool that many builders reach for to help them, their team, and their clients visualize a project in three dimensions is Sketchup. Drawing and visual planning play an important role in building, whether it's a hand-drawn sketch or a CAD rendering. Two dimensional drawings have obvious limitations on a job site, so imagine if you could easily draw important details on the spot in three dimensions? Sketchup gives you that ability. This software can help you build models to describe your idea to a client or dissect a detail with team members. This course will outline the basic tools in the software and show how you can start by building a 2x4 and work your way up to a whole house.

Jon Beer
Jon Beer established Jon Beer Contracting in 2017. He moved to the Hudson Valley from New York in 2013 to pursue a life as an artist and took on the challenge of restoring two Victorian mansions. After successfully completing two 7,000 sq foot historic renovations and setting up a rental business he decided to pursue construction full time.
